Bichon Poo Tzu or Shichonpoo - this is a cross between the Shih tzu, Bichon
Frise and Toy Poodle.
They are very good with children and very social, friendly with everyone
including other animals. They have a mild nature and are not overactive.
Shichonpoos are generally gentle dogs and are an excellent choice for a
retired person, younger adults and children!
Sizes vary, depending on the parents. Usually, they average from 8 to 15
pounds. They come in a variety of colors and are non-shedding. They are
excellent choices for families with allergy concerns.

What are the Bichon Shih-Tzu, Shichon, Teddy Bear or Zuchon dogs like?

The Bichon Shihtzu, Shichon, Teddy Bear or Zuchon combines the outstanding characteristics of the Bichon Frise
and the Shih-Tzu Breeds. The Zuchon, also commonly called a Shichon by many breeders, is not a purebred dog. It is
a cross between the Bichon Frise and the Shih Tzu. These dogs are called the "Original" "Teddy Bear" dogs.

Bichon Characteristics: Gentle mannered, sensitive, playful and affectionate. Bichons are extremely intelligent and
adaptive with unique personalities and make the ideal companion for all ages, especially kids and even other
animals! Bichons are full of love to give and life to live! A cheerful attitude is the hallmark of the breed. They are
hypo-allergenic and do not shed, so need regular grooming. The Sweet Natured Bichon with its self-assured,
important manner could fit into any home where a dog with a lot of love and loyalty is desired.

Shihtzu Characteristics: Alert and spunky little dog. Happy and hardy, endowed with loads of character. They are
royally dignified, courageous. This breed does well with children. The gentle loyal Shih-Tzu makes friends easily and
although obstinate can respond well to consistent patient training. A very alert watch dog, the Shih-Tzu likes to bark,
but is usually quiet inside the house. They are clever, playful and lively. This sweet, affectionate little dog needs to be
with people and are generally good with other pets.

As you look through the photos on different breeders websites, one might notice that the look of the Shichon can vary
widely, based on the quality of their parents. The Shichon puppies pictures shown are typical of what you will find with
one of our Rolling Meadows puppies. They are the product of careful, thoughtful breeding. We are committed to
breeding a healthy, sweet tempered Shichon who is also cute! Our puppies are from Bichon Frise and Shih-Tzu
purebreds who are AKC registered and have some Champion bloodlines in their pedigrees.

What will my Bichon Shihtzu look like as an adult?

As the Bichon Shihtzu puppies becomes an adult, their appearance does not change much. They retain their puppy
look throughout adulthood and will retain much of their puppy color pattern. Their hair will continue to grow (since they
are non-shedding) and will need to be trimmed in a puppy cut if you like the shorter haired look.

The puppies can lighten some in color as they get older.

Though the adult look of a Bichon Shih-Tzu can be harder to predict that the appearance of a purebred Bichon or
Shih-Tzu, they always end up looking cute as a button:) The average adult weight of the featured puppies will be 8-15
pounds.
