Maltichon

The Maltichon is a "designer dog" or hybrid. A f1 hybrid Maltichon puppy
is produced by breeding a purebred Maltese with a purebred Bichon Frise.
The best way of determining the characteristics of a Maltichon puppy is to
research the parents. Desirable traits in a Maltichon puppy include the
kind, playful temperament of the Maltese and the wavy, non-shedding hair
of the Bichon Frise. Maltichon puppies should weigh 8 to 10 pounds as
adults. Maltichon puppies should exhibit gentle, affectionate
temperaments and a lively fearlessness. They will be intelligent, fast
learners, similar to the Bichon Frise. "Designer dogs" are known for their
unique breeding and special characteristics. One important motive in
developing hybrids is to reduce hereditary health problems found in some
purebreds. Maltichon puppies are generally healthy, exhibiting the best
physical traits of both the Maltese and the Bichon Frise.

Our Hybrid Puppies ~
All of our Hybrid Puppies are F1 first generation crosses. The F1 Hybrid is the healthiest cross possible due to "Hybrid Vigor". It is our desire to raise
and promote these Hybrids. We carefully select each Purebred parent for the characteristics that would result in puppies with the most desirable pet
qualities. Our goal in breeding F1 Hybrid Puppies is to breed a Very Healthy Puppy with the desirable companion traits found in their purebred parents.
We do not breed multi generational Dogs as we have no desire to produce a "pure bred" Poodle Cross and we don't want to see our Hybrid Puppies
begin to have inbred genetic problems. We register our Hybrid Puppies with the American Canine Hybrid Club.

What are the Bichon Maltese or Maltichon dogs like?
The Bichon Maltese or Maltichon puppy combines the outstanding characteristics of the Bichon Frise and the
Maltese Breeds.

The Maltichon is a mix between a Bichon Frise and a Maltese. It is an independent dog, is intelligent and very
affectionate. This gentle dog does not bark constantly. It has a self-assured, happy temperament that is easy to live
with. Maltichons are easy to train and love everyone. They need people to be happy. They are naturally sociable and
are happiest when they are part of a family that takes them everywhere. This sociable trait also means that they are
fine in the company of other dogs & pets and are excellent with children. Used as watchdogs and to perform tricks,
this breed is competitive and obedient.

Height: 9-12 inches Weight: 7-12 pounds

Since Maltichons have hair instead of fur, they don’t shed, which makes them wonderful for allergy suffers. They enjoy
being brushed daily. Because of it’s size, the Maltichon is perfect for apartments and RV’s. They love to go
everywhere with you.

As Bichon Maltese breeders, it is our goal to raise happy, healthy Bichon Maltese or Maltichon puppies that will fill the
spot of best friend to their new owners.

As you look through the photos on different breeders websites, one might notice that the look of the Maltichon can
vary widely, based on the quality of their parents. The Maltichon puppies shown are typical of what you will find with
one of our Rolling Meadows puppies. They are the product of careful, thoughtful breeding. We are committed to
breeding a healthy, sweet tempered Maltichon who is also cute! Our puppies are from Bichon Frise and Maltese
purebreds who are AKC registered and have some Champion bloodlines in their pedigrees.

What will my Bichon Maltese look like as an adult?

As the Bichon Maltese puppies becomes an adult, their appearance does not change much. They retain their puppy
look throughout adulthood and will retain much of their puppy color pattern. Their hair will continue to grow (since they
are non-shedding) and will need to be trimmed in a puppy cut if you like the shorter haired look.

The puppies will usually stay the same colorr as they mature.

Though the adult look of a Bichon Maltese can be harder to predict that the appearance of a purebred Bichon or
Maltese they always end up looking cute as a button:) The average adult weight of our puppies will be 7-12 pounds.
